About

Most business challenges stem from people issues. With nearly two decades of diverse experience, I help set you, your team, and your business up for success from Day One.

NICE TO MEET YOU

I’m Alannah

With nearly two decades in corporate HR, I have developed full-scope business partnership skills spanning recruitment, onboarding, performance management, policy development, building culture, talent strategy for growth through wind-down, and exits.

Having worked for small businesses through to multi-national household brands, I now help founders and small business owners take the guess work out of building and managing a team by applying simple, but impactful People (HR) principles from Day One.

My Story

After graduating with my business degree, I immediately started my career in Human Resources. Over my career I have had the privilege to work in a variety of industries including post-secondary, healthcare, logistics, visual effects, eCommerce, and retail.

In speaking with friends and observing businesses, I’ve noticed a need for HR support for early-stage start-up founders and small business owners.

Now, I’m compiling my nearly two decades of experience from small business through to multi-national organizations into 1) a templated, actionable People Playbook, 2) fractional consulting, and 3) building a community for founders and small business owners to learn from each other.

FOUNDATIONAL VALUES

Foundational Processes

Team Development

Develop your People Leadership skills to grow and develop your team.

Community

Being a leader can be lonely & you may feel like only you are having these experiences, but there’s a whole community of similar people.

Why I Do It

The world is changing, and the relationship between businesses and their people (and people and their work) is about to experience an exponential shift.

Innovation and small businesses are important foundations of our society; however, there is a lack of HR support that meets founders and small businesses where they are (and is accessible, relevant, and actionable).

If businesses are going to be able to attract, develop, and retain talented teams, they need to recognize and respect the mutual benefits within the employer-employee partnership – plus, it’s just the right thing to do!
